ARTIST STATEMENT

My art emanates from something deep inside me and serves as a means to convey emotions. I have worked intuitively since I was very small. The interplay of shapes and colors is always the priority.

Each of my paintings begins with small, intricate doodles and color quickly finds its way onto the canvas. The work becomes random, fun, and abstract and it is up to me to get control of it and end with a natural and harmonious result. Each piece stands on it’s own, and each piece creates a feeling. The intention is to engage the viewer in the complexity of the work and to let their imagination take over.

The ultimate purpose of my art is to bring smiles to faces.

Artist Bio

Natalie Price will graduate with a B.A. in Art with an emphasis on Education from Bellarmine University in December 2019. She received an Honorable Mention in Bellarmine University’s Annual Student Art Show (2017). She completed an Art Program internship at Louisville Collegiate School in the Fall 2018 semester. Natalie has also worked as a camp counselor at both Abigail Academy and at Second Presbyterian Church Weekday School. Her desire is to work with young children and help them develop a love for art and a passion to follow their dreams. Perhaps Pablo Picasso said it best, “Every child is an artist. The problem is how to remain an artist once we grow up.”
